By downloading, installing, or using VoicePaste, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the software.
VoicePaste is provided by Cygno ("we", "us"), operated by Remco Douma, based in Uruguay.
VoicePaste is a macOS dictation application that transcribes speech to text using AI providers. It is distributed as a notarized DMG download from voicepaste.app.
VoicePaste operates in two modes:
Cloud mode subscriptions are billed through Paddle, which acts as our merchant of record. Paddle handles all payment processing, tax compliance, invoicing, and refunds.
By subscribing, you agree to Paddle's terms of service and privacy policy.
VoicePaste includes a free tier with 30 minutes of transcription per month. No payment or account is required. The free tier is available indefinitely.
Paid subscriptions (Lite, Unlimited) are billed monthly. You can cancel at any time through the Paddle customer portal. Upon cancellation, your subscription remains active until the end of the current billing period, after which you revert to the free tier. All local data (history, audio, settings) is preserved regardless of subscription status.
VoicePaste Local works without any purchase, but a promotional tagline is appended to each transcription. The one-time license purchase removes this tagline permanently. This license is perpetual and cannot be revoked. It does not include access to VoicePaste Cloud services.
Refunds are handled by Paddle in accordance with their refund policy and applicable consumer protection laws. Contact support@voicepaste.app if you need assistance.
You agree to use VoicePaste for its intended purpose: dictation and speech-to-text transcription. You may not:
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your Cloud subscription at our sole discretion if we determine that you are in violation of these terms, including but not limited to:
If we terminate your subscription, we will make reasonable efforts to notify you and explain the reason. Depending on the circumstances, we may offer a prorated refund for the remaining billing period.
VoicePaste Local licenses are not subject to Cloud termination, as they operate independently of our servers. VoicePaste Local and all local data are never affected by a Cloud termination.
VoicePaste Cloud is provided on an "as-is" basis. We do not guarantee specific uptime or availability. We will make reasonable efforts to keep the service operational but cannot guarantee uninterrupted access.
If we decide to discontinue VoicePaste Cloud, we will provide at least 90 days notice. During the notice period, existing subscriptions continue to function. You can switch to VoicePaste Local to continue using VoicePaste without cloud services.
VoicePaste and its source code, design, and brand are the property of Cygno. Your subscription or license grants you the right to use the software, not ownership of it.
Your content (audio recordings, transcriptions, history) remains yours. We do not claim any rights over your content.
VoicePaste relies on third-party AI providers for transcription, rewriting, and translation. These services have their own terms and privacy policies. In VoicePaste Local mode with your own API keys, you interact directly with these providers under your own accounts. Local Whisper does not use third-party services.
We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or policies of third-party AI providers.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Cygno shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of VoicePaste, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of profits, or business interruption.
Our total liability to you for any claim arising from or related to VoicePaste shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
These terms are governed by the laws of Uruguay. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Montevideo, Uruguay.
We may update these terms from time to time. Significant changes will be communicated through the app or website. Continued use of VoicePaste after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
