Yes. VoicePaste is signed with an Apple Developer ID and notarized by Apple. This means Apple has scanned the app for malicious software before distribution. When you first open it, macOS confirms it has been checked. No scary warnings.
VoicePaste's auto-paste feature requires Accessibility access to type into any app. The Mac App Store requires sandboxing, which blocks this. All comparable macOS utilities (Raycast, Alfred, BetterTouchTool) distribute directly for the same reason.
To paste transcribed text directly into your focused application. Without it, VoicePaste can still copy to your clipboard, but you'd need to manually paste with Cmd+V.

Not currently. Your transcriptions and audio stay on each Mac. We don't store your text or audio on our servers, only usage metadata for quota tracking. If we add syncing in the future, it will use end-to-end encryption.
Only what's needed to run the service: a hashed device identifier (cannot be traced back to you), audio duration per transcription, and language used. We never store your transcription text or audio. Email addresses are only stored if you subscribe to the newsletter, and payment information is handled entirely by Paddle.
